Philosophy
For most of cinema's history, movie posters were printed lithographically, layer by layer. Black ink came last. It was the final pass, the layer that brought contrast, definition, and legibility to everything beneath it.
We believe great film marketing works the same way. A story can be beautifully made, but without the right framing, design, and communication, it risks going unseen. Our role is to bring clarity to the work, shaping posters, trailers, campaigns, and moments that help films find their audience.
What We Do
01
A plan for where your film is going and how it gets seen. Positioning, release strategy, festival submissions, press kits and critic outreach.
02
Posters and key art that hold up on a wall, a screen or a festival programme. We also build lookbooks that set a film's visual direction at pitch stage.
03
First-look teasers through to theatrical trailers, cut with the same care as the film. Pacing, tone and music that build anticipation without giving the story away.
04
Main and end titles, animated posters and motion assets for the campaign.
05
Unit stills and behind-the-scenes photography from set. These images carry press kits, socials and festival coverage long after the shoot.
06
Content made for each platform and timed around your release. Organic strategy, paid assets and community management, all in the voice of the film.

Black Ink is a boutique film marketing agency based in Vancouver, working with filmmakers, production companies, distributors, and festivals across North America and the UK.
We've spent years in design and advertising, for film and other industries. Some of that work has been on the films themselves, in titles and trailers, and all of it has been about getting good work seen.
That experience shows in the work: title design and key art for Alien: Ore with 20th Century Fox, and a full festival campaign for Tuktuit: Caribou at Sundance 2026.
